Corowa Lions President Barry Gleeson donates to Lions Prostate Cancer Research
Lion Barry Gleeson was challenged by some members of his club to grow his hair and beard and shave it off in a public place.
Barry took up the challenge and over the past few months let his hair and beard grow to outstanding length. Easter Saturday morning in the Corowa, Sanger Street Arcade Barry offered his head full of silver locks up for Lions Prostate Cancer Research.
Barry raised almost $4,000 which the Corowa Club will present to Lions Prostate Cancer Research.
President Barry wished to thank the local Lions clubs that donated very generously to the cause and also the many club members and public who donated $500 on the morning of the Shave Off. He also wants to thank the Corowa Lions members who all pulled towards the big event last Saturday – dressing up in coloured wigs and other fancy dress for the occasion.
